In 1989 the World Wide Web(WWW) or, as it's better known, the Internet was founded by Tim Berners-Lee.
Many decades later Have I Been Hacked(HiBH) was founded by Liam and deployed on the very World Wide Web that Tim imagined. Why? For one simple reason - to make the world a better and more secure place. Liam was passionate about the privacy and integrity of user's personal data and their devices. He desired to help educate the community and his friends about the dangers of cyber crime and the negative impact it could have on peoples lives. This is what inspired the creation of HiBH.
In 2015, cybercrime caused about USD$3 trillion worth of damages. Despite cyber security experts working worldwide to fight this, the cost of damages reached USD$6 trillion in 2021! These are sobering facts and you can find 11 more interesting facts further down this page. Additionally there is a timeline below to portray progression across the decades of both HiBH and the Internet more broadly.
